Rajiv prefers Rishikesh over Switzerland
When Rajeev Khandelwal decided to go for a holiday with his wife Manjiri, locales stars normally prefer — like Switzerland and London didn’t even cross his mind. It was all about mountains and fresh air for him. And what’s a better location thanRishikesh for that? And so the actor, who says the mountains and water fascinates him, took his wife and went for an adventure trip.”Before leaving for Fiji to shoot for my upcoming movie Table Number 21, I wanted to spend some time with Manjiri. It is a 40-days schedule, and I would be away from home for over a month after that,” he says. And spend quality time the couple sure did — Rajeev also went river-rafting and trekking in the mountain folds. But Manjiri doesn’t like water sports at all, he revealed. It was his spirit of adventure that inspired her to overcome her fears and take up the challenge.”She is a sport lover, but when it comes to water sports, it’s a complete no-no for Manjiri. Somehow I managed to take her to Rishikesh this time where we had a great experience enjoying water sports. I won’t be exaggerating if I say that I made her fall in love with water. It was one of the most wonderful rafting expeditions of my life,” says this adventure freak who spent four-days doing all these outdoor stuff and travelling in a jeep. Located in the foothills of the Himalayas, the venue they had chosen to camp at was as picturesque as the postcards, and what Manjiri loved the most, says Rajeev, was that it was a secluded spot.

Mad about adventure sports, especially trekking and biking, “Rishikesh is a regular hotspot for me,” he admits. He has organised such trips for his family in the past and finds them to be a great way to bond with family members. “We were in Rishikesh for four days and three nights. You won’t believe, Manjiri thoroughly enjoyed river-rafting. It was an amazing experience,” says Rajeev.
