Shikarbadi

Shikarbadi Hotel – Udaipur

An old hunting lodge of the Mewar rulers, the Shikarbadi Hotel, Udaipur is snuggled on the Aravalli Hills. It is close to the city centre and only 15 minutes drive from the City Palace Complex. Built on the edge of a deer park the chalet style rooms are fitted with modern facilities. Enjoy the sight of watching the animals as they come to drink from the pond in the mornings and at dusk.

It has its own private lake and a stud farm. It has 25 double rooms with attached bath, heating and cooling. Originally a royal hunting lodge, the property is efficiently managed and provides comfortable lodgings in an entirely different atmosphere from the other Udaipur properties, geared to outdoor recreation and relaxation.

Known for its traditional Mewari cuisine, the hotel’s restaurants are very popular with the locals. The open-air restaurant, Risala, overlooking the distant Sajjangarh Fort has a campfire and bar-be-que on winter evenings.
