Itinerary – South India Tour:

Cochin-Alleppey-Periyar-Kodaikkanal-Munnar-Cochin

Day 1 : Cochin

Upon arrival into Cochin for your South India Tour you will be greeted by the Mystical India representative and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 : Cochin

After breakfast depart the hotel for sightseeing of the area of Cochin which has been luring wanderers and traders for over 600 years and remains a living homage to its colonial past. During your tour you will visit the famous Chinese fishing nets, the synagogue, the Dutch Palace and churches of St. Francis and Santa Cruz Basilica. This evening you will depart for the Kathakali program which is an art form invented around the time of Shakespeare it is the dramatized presentation of Hindu epics the Ramayana and Mahabharata. Overnite at hotel, breakfast included.

Day 3 : Alleppey

After breakfast you will drive to Allepy the Venice of east where you will have your stay in house boat. Drifting through quiet canals lined with coconut palms, eating delicious keralan food, meeting with local villages and sleeping on the water under a galaxy of stars is the uniqueness of your stay in the house boat.  Overnite on house boat, all meals included.

Day 4 : Alleppey

After the breakfast, you will visit a local village where you will have a village walk and a canoe boat ride. Tonight you will stay in a typical and ridiculously picturesque back water village.
Overnite at home stay, all meals included.

Day 5 : Periyar

After breakfast you will depart from your home stay for the scenic drive to periyar. Upon arrival in Periyar you will check-in to your hotel. This afternoon you will depart for a tour of the local spice plantation and enjoy an elephant ride. This evening you will be enchanted by the Kalarippayat, the ancient tradition of martial training and discipline. Overnite at hotel, breakfast included.

Day 6 : Periyar

Early morning departure for trekking inside the wildlife sanctuary where you just might get a glimpse of an elephant, surely you will interact with monkeys and sightseeing of other wild animals in their natural habitat. During the jungle walk you will have to tine to enjoy the breakfast provided. Upon returning to the hotel you will have a chance to freshen up, perhaps have a massage or other Ayurvedic treatments. This evening you will have a local dinner provided in a private home including cooking demonstration.  Overnite at hotel, breakfast and dinner included.

Day 7 : Kodaikkanal

After the breakfast depart the hotel from Periyar to Kodaikkanal, the princess of hill stations which is located in the western ghats. Evening at leisure.  Overnite at hotel, breakfast included.

Day 8 : Kodaikkanal

After the breakfast a local guide will take you for a trekking to see the nature’s bliss of Kodaikkanal. After the lunch you can have relaxed walk along paved coaker’s walk and around lake circuit. Overnite at hotel, breakfast included.

Day 9 : Munnar

After breakfast you will drive to Munnar. Upon arrival you will check-in to your hotel and have time for fresh up and you will proceed to see a tea factory as Munnar is the place where you can see Kerala’s finest tea plantation. Evening at leisure. Overnite at hotel, breakfast included.

Day 10 : Munnar

After breakfast, you will proceed to eravikulam national park where you can see the rare species mountain goat-Tahr. After lunch you will go to mattupatty dam where you can have 15 minutes boat ride (*optional) and a cattle breeding centre cum dairy project to see modern cattle breeding. Overnite at hotel, breakfast included.

Day 11 : Cochin

After breakfast, we will return to Cochin where you will begin travel to your onward destination. Breakfast included.
